About Thomas
Thomas Alberts is Staff Journalist at Legacy Assurance Plan, where he has developed the organization’s estate planning content since 2018. He works with LAP’s Creative Team to produce educational articles, booklets, brochures, web pages, and multimedia content that help the general public understand why estate planning matters.
After earning a double major in journalism and English from Indiana University Bloomington, he spent more than 30 years as a reporter and editor with media organizations in Florida, Indiana, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
Tom has written more than 50 articles spanning LAP’s estate planning categories, covering wills, trusts, probate, Medicaid planning, beneficiary designations, powers of attorney, guardianship, and related matters. He has also overseen the development of LAP’s online library of more than 600 articles.
